![]() Wollay updated his Twitter for the first time since August 19th with the short message, "Don't be concerned, we're still working on Cube World. So of course, they took to the internet and bombarded developer Wollay's Twitter in search of an answer.Īnd an answer is what they got. Many of those fans, however, became a bit worried when updates from the developers on the game's future grew silent. Despite some missteps, there were plenty of eager fans willing to surrender their cash for some hands-on time with Cube World. Maybe some of those games might help fill the void for you guys, because you're grasping for straws if you expect anything from someone this unprofessional, his personal mental health aside. In July earlier this year, indie developer Picorama's part- Minecraft, part- Diablo sandbox title Cube World made its way into a paid alpha stage of development, granting players access to the game's alpha in exchange for an early purchase. I'm even surprised we could transfer our original copies to Steam to begin with. Even World of Horror is a one man show, guy has been busy with real life matters but never fully excommunicated his base. And I'd argue it's one of the more ambitious early access games, aiming for full multiplayer support. ![]() Hell, even Coin game has one developer, and a wife. If games like Tem Tem and Re:Legends are releasing a 1.0 in 5 days, and they went through covid era, a game from 10 years ago shouldn't have been brought back in another cash grab attempt for potential Steam buyers. Sadly, if he reappears, anything will be a repeat of the same before he ultimately disappears from the internet for good. Move on, it's an obvious scam I noticed this 10 years ago, when I purchased the game for me and an ex and my friend. Neither side is right, and doing it doesn't make the situation any better. Too many either outright get vitriolic at Wollay, or defend him carte blanche. This community has done the same song and dance for years. It's not for him, if he can't take critique and feedback from people that offer it in a non-combative way. This isn't the business or field for Wollay to be in, if he can't handle keeping up communication with the community he created. I said it years ago on this forum and I'll say it again. However, that doesn't excuse terrible business behavior. Anxiety, depression, the constant nagging feeling to be a perfectionist. If the community was aware of all the changes slowly over time in development as they came, it wouldn't have been the jarring release experience and fundamental difference in gameplay feel that the release version was. It was a total bait and switch, and all because Wollay's biggest flaw was, and still IS, the fact that he does not communicate at all. The released product was an awful game, it wasn't at all what was promised or hinted at throughout the development process. You can have sympathy and be empathetic to Wollay's mental state in regards to the things that happened to him, but that doesn't change the fact that from a business standpoint, what he did was awful. There will never be a happy ending to this. Originally posted by GNOM:Many years have passed, CW community does not change, if only there can be a happy ending to all of this. ![]() I’m hyped but also a little skeptic obviously, knowing wollay and cube worlds history. He also mentions the new version will be more mod-friendly! Which is great since mods in cube world became crucial. (Not exactly sure if it’s needed for the artwork/ai or for the game’s code). Plasma is fundamentally needed to create cube world/voxel. Wollay replied to several people through e-mail, confirming he has been working on a new/better version of his program Plasma. (My opinion)īut wait! There’s more juicy news -which to my surprise hasn’t been posted here(?), since it’s pretty big news. So yes, most of you have heard about wollay latest songs he uploaded on SoundCloud recently, they perfectly fit in Cube World as they do have similarities compared to official Cube World songs. I posted this on the pinned thread but I figured not everyone will see it so I’ll post it here too!
